A lot has been published re Ed Scott - about how many cast members are excited by his addition to Days as producer, about how extra care is being given to lighting, editing, camera work, music - and performances.
After seeing a few weeks worth of Scott's work, I have to agree - Ed's been a breath of fresh air to Days. The show has a new look and feel - and I mean that in a very positive way. The images have a depth and the colors a richness they didn't have before. The camera work is far more interesting, as is the editing. The cheesy fade out, right before the previews, is GONE - it's about time. And the acting - I've noticed a definite improvement in the performances. Days of Our Lives seems to be turning itself around.
Jay has been on the past three days - he'll be on Thursday, as well. We all know that Jay is a natural talent - he's always given honest, real performance. And he's a consummate professional; he's always given his all to his work - he puts everything he has into his characterizations. Jay has an uncanny instinct when it comes to acting - he adds layers, nuance, subtext. It's just in him. Whatever he does, it's real.
Given just how truly good Jay has always been, I have to say, the past few days rank up there with his very best work - at least in my opinion. He's been awesome - exceptional. I'm always impressed with Jay. He continues to impress me, and surprise me, with his talent.
Just wanted to express my thoughts re Jay's recent work.
