North Shore will always hold a special place for me - it was Jay's first big break into prime time. And it certainly won't be the last - with his talent and on screen presence, he's bound to make it big in both prime time and features. I know what ya mean. I remember sitting in the family room with my husband and children waiting for Jay's first prime time appearance. When he sped onto the scene on that jet ski for the first time, we all jumped up screaming like he was a family member getting his big break. I'll never forget it. i was so proud of him. And I totally agree, I know there are still big projects to come and I'll be there once again ready to scream and shout. LOL. Jay's a brilliant actor and amazing guy. I'll be buying North Shore DVDs for sure. Same here - when he came into that first scene on that jet ski, I thought - he's done it! I was so incredibly proud of him - especially when I thought of how his role came to be. When he shot the pilot, Chris was a one time guest shot. The producers were so impressed with him, they called him back for a 7 episode arc when the series was picked up by FOX. I recall waiting and hoping they'd make him a series regular by the time it aired. They did - he impressed them that much.

i just checked and all the episodes are gone I looked in several files last night to locate the links, and didn't find them. They wouldn't have worked anyway. Wow - I'd heard something similar happened with some of the Days videos on YouTube - copyright infringement. I wonder if that happened to the North Shore videos as well. There is a possibility that FOX ordered the North Shore clips/episodes off YouTube . . . I'm going to see if I can find anything on the net re North Shore and DVD - that would be our only hope. They haven't released it - yet. But who knows? If ANYONE has info re North Shore, if it's suppose to come out on DVD any time, please let us know - provide a link. Thanks! Yes that happened. Sony went over to youtube and coincidently deleted all the Phloe stuff but not Broe or anything. But yeah all us Phloe fans were MAD for about a week. There is almost nothing on youtube worth watching that is Phloe. And now i can't even watch North Shore i never saw that but i'd love too if JKJ was in it.

Do those screen caps bring back memories - tuning in to FOX on Mondays during the summer of 2004, then, later in the season, on Thursdays . . . I actually started watching Lost (still watch it - the only prime time series I catch) because it showed more of the same scenery I'd been introduced to on North Shore. The cliffs, the forests, etc. of Oahu are so beautiful to view on TV - I can't even imagine what it's like to take that all in, in person . . . Thank you so much for posting, Pags.
For those who didn't catch North Shore, the first four caps above are from the pilot - Jay's first sequence, the one Mindy mentioned in her post above. The fifth shot is also from the pilot - when Chris (Jay) talks with future girlfriend M. J. Bevans (Nikki DeLoach) for the first time. (There are seen in a prior sequence - when MJ chews out Chris's rude jet ski buddy.)
I haven't seen an episode of North Shore in many years, but these photos really bring that experience back to life. They make me realize, all the more, just how much I miss seeing Jay in prime time - and, specifically, how much Jay belongs in both prime time and features. As Mindy says, Jay is a brilliant actor and an amazing guy - no one deserves it more than he does. I know we'll be seeing Jay in both prime time, and on the big screen, sometime soon.

I haven't watched any of my North Shore tapes for years either but it's nice to see all these screencaps. Totally agree with you---Jay's a brilliant actor and we'll be seeing him back on primetime when he's done with Days. He also should be on the big screen--and sooner rather than later.

I heard that Fox didn't show all episodes. But here in Sweden they aired all 21. That's true - FOX didn't broadcast the 21st episode (the series finale) in the United States and Canada. I have no idea why they didn't - makes no sense.
