I have been enjoying Philip's new edge, but I must admit I think he went too far with the whole drugs ordeal. Can Philip be redeemed after sinking to this level? I'm going to always be biased and love Philip Kiriakis, but is anyone else worried that TPTB can push him too far over to the dark side and make him lose fans?

I'm afraid he's going backward in character development. I liked the multi-layered Philip we were seeing with Chloe at the beginning of the year. Ruthless in business, always loyal to his family and a man with a good heart.
Right now Philip is being written as a mini-me to Victor, which is not who he is.

I think he can be redeemed. I mean he was just given full control of the business and did a stupid move to a competitor. I mean once Victor told him how stupid and reckless it was you can see the light bulb going off in his head saying you know he's right. Even when he does the bad things with that smug smile on his face I can't hate him. He's one of my favorite bad guys. They are in a shades of grey will do whatever it takes to get ahead but still has a conscience.
For example he stole the disc from John's because he thought it would help him destroy his business and end the dock war. When he found out their were brain waves on it. He called Marlena so she can get the disc. He didn't have to do that. He could have kept it for leverage but he didn't. He did make Marlena promise not to tell where she got it from. But he did still help her by giving her the disc. I don't think he's too far into the dark side where he will lose fans. He's a good balance of good and bad right now.

He may lose fans because of the Chole/Morgan situation. I was in one war for Phloe but I'll not be in another one with Phorgan.

The only thing that worried me was Philip possibly being responsible for Paul Hollingsworth death. The other things he's done may have been bad, but not as bad as murder. Now, I don't believe they are going in that direction.
Also with Victor's stroke, I think more fans with sympathize with what he has to deal with - the possiblity of losing his father, his the trouble with his business, and trying to cover his tracks with his involvement with Paul. I believe we're going to get some great scenes between Victor, Philip and Bo.

I am a Philip fan for life! Yes! The great Philip Kiriakis can be redeemed as always! He came back to Salem on January 13,2007. He was cold as ice during that time because his wife Belle broke his heart and she destroyed their marriage. I think Philip can be the same fun loving person we liked back in 1999. If they would only write the same type of stories back in 1999, things would be great at Days again!
