So what's up with the over pronunciation? I don't remember anyone doing that until I started watching the show again this year. Philip just did it today again talking about the Kiriakis Empire.

John Aniston, as Victor, always pronounced it that way, while other actors/characters on the show gave the pronunciation an American twist. Soon after Jay's return, he started to pronounce it the way John always did. I've noticed Nadia now pronounces it the way John always has, as well.

It just seems so affected. Everytime someone pronounces it that way I crack up.

John Aniston was born in Greece - I'd trust his pronunciation of the name Kiriakis more than I'd trust my own pronunciation. LOL!

I agree, I love the way John Aniston pronounces the Kiriakis name. I do too. John's pronunciation gives the name power and authority, totally keeping with his position as a business tycoon.

You are right Steve. John Aniston pronounce it the way it it should be since it's a greek name. This past year Jay and Peter Reckell also pronounce it like that. But most of the characters pronounce it more in an american way.

Well, I'm sure that is the correct way to pronounce it, but Philip never did when he was in high school. It's just funny how he started doing it all of a sudden.

And Philip isn't the only one pronouncing it differently than before - Chloe, among other characters, now pronounce Kiriakis the way Victor always did. Perhaps it has to do with of Ed Scott - a new exec. producer with a good sense of detail.
