I'm very surprised, and saddened, by this latest change of events - word of Ed Scott's dismissal is all over the Net, from reliable sources.
Ed Scott revived Days, IMO. Before he came on board, the show looked and sounded drab, even cheesy in various aspects. Ed gave Days a look, a style, it sorely lacked. He also took time to work with the actors, helping them flesh out their scenes, adding subtext and depth - and his, and their, efforts shows in the finished product.
For me, Scott was the best behind the scenes addition to Days, just as Jay's the best in front of the camera addition. The cast seemed to love working with Scott - an actor's producer. It makes you wonder, with the promised official word of renewal that's been delayed for - how long? - just what is truly going on behind the scenes, and just what the future actually holds for this show . . .
