For the past few months, Jay has produced and released two informative, entertaining behind the scenes 'webisodes' - with more on the way. I've wondered if Days and (especially) NBC fully realize just what they have in Jay - - an immensely talented, charismatic and dedicated actor and team player. Jay's taken the initiative to act as a series spokesperson. His efforts are reconnecting viewers to Days - at a time when the show desperately needs that reconnection.
Jay is a tremendous asset to Days, to NBC's daytime division - and the network as a whole. TPTB need to have this pointed out to them. I'm going to contact the execs at Days and NBC, and suggest they take action before Jay slips through their fingers. Philip has become one of Salem's most exciting characters, brought vividly to life by a gifted professional. Jay's happy to be back at Days - but we know he also wants to (and deserves to) do prime time and features. He can do all of the above - with NBC benefiting as a result. Jay's proven he'll do all he can for his show, that he's already a major asset to NBC; the network just hasn't taken advantage of all he has to offer - yet. I'm going to urge that NBC do for Jay what it's done for Alison Sweeney - i.e., give him prime time exposure (in an existing or upcoming network drama or comedy as a series regular) while he continues in daytime. Alison's done 'double duty' on Days and The Biggest Loser - NBC can certainly provide that same opportunity for Jay. Talented, hard working and dedicated, Jay would make his 'double duty' assignments on NBC a dual success.
If you want to join in and write/send a few letters and e-mails on Jay's behalf, you'll find contact info below. (I've included info for the publications, as well.) Many of the e-mails that once worked no longer do; I tested all of the ones listed below - all seem to be active. Send out one letter/e-mail, send out a few - send several. Every single message on Jay's behalf counts. Thanks.
