I must say that I am LOVING Philip right now. Jay's scenes with Martha and Nadia sizzle. With Belle, Philip is protective and honest. With Chloe, he's flirty and open. Thursday's show was amazing. I wondered how his scenes with Nadia on Friday would top them. But did they? Heck yeah they did! Jay and Nadia were awesome. I was skeptical about them being able to connect being such different characters now. Wrong! I loved watching them play off one another. There were times, you could tell that Jay and Nadia were happy to reunite and play with their new characters. I am a Phloe fan to the core, but I appreciated their scenes on a different level. I don't think it's about rooting for the pairing I used to love. I can't say yet that I trust the writers enough to invest myself that way again. But, I can totally enjoy what I'm seeing and Friday's episode was exciting, strong, flirty, and mysterious. Who did Chloe call at the end of the show? How will this play out? Will she for once in her life fight for him? I am genuinely interested and I think that's what Jay wants. He's done amazing work and the show focusing so closely on his character is turning me into a Days fan again.
Shawn who? Seriously, I feel sorry Brandom Beemer at this point. Jay is carrying all of his storylines and the women involved in him. Poor Shawn in that cop costume was more hilarious than sexy and failed to even compare in intensity to Philip and Belle's steamy rendezvous. This storyline has shifted in direction and so far I am completely on board. Bravo Jay and thank you for making me a fan again.

Jay's been awesome - it's so easy to see why TV Guide Canada singled him out on its Emmy wish list. Just a few months back, Philip was a triangle prop, only on when Shelle needed the requisite nemesis. That's changed, in a big way. I think Ed Scott must realize what the show has in Jay. It's interesting that we now see Jay front and center, on 3 to 4 days every week. He's become a major force on the show - a leading player. We now see Philip at work, Philip the no-nonsense businessman. We see Philip involved in with his mother, brother, sister (and hopefully, his father very soon.) It took Days long enough, but they've finally started to do right by Jay.
As you mention, Mindy, Jay and Nadia did have great chemistry - and so do Jay and Martha. I noticed both eagerness and apprehension coming from Philip re Chloe - he didn't look as though he was all that thrilled about taking her phone number. I think part of Philip doesn't trust Chloe - and with good reason. The new Philip isn't about to let her get the best of him. I'm not rooting for a Phloe pairing in the old sense - I'm much more interested in seeing Philip make Chloe realize just what she missed out on - by not choosing him the first go around.
Speaking of which - - did you notice the look on Philip's face when he learned Chloe was divorced - that sly, devilish smile, like he was thinking 'serves you right for choosing YOU KNOW WHO!' Loved it. That was the highlight of those scenes, at least for me.

YES I did Steve! The look on his face when she said she was divorced from Brady was priceless. I ate it up! A little devilish on my part too. Mwahahaha!

I didn't eat it up - I devoured it - very devilish on my part. I think that one comment made Philip's week - his expressive response certainly made mine. Jay played that moment spot on - a bull's eye. Philip's Cheshire Cat grin said it all - - 'Ha! Ha! Chloe chose the 'other guy' - and lost out, all around.' His gleeful vindication was truly priceless - a great moment from Jay for us to truly enjoy. I hope, truly hope, Philip gives Chloe a good, close look at what she could have had all this time, had she chosen a real winner. Steve

I read that too--about Philip blowing off Chloe. I'm so glad Philip has her number and isn't about to be a push-over. Surely Chloe didn't think Philip would welcome her with open arms because things "didn't work out" with Brady? Philip hasn't forgotten that she dumped him for Brady---and neither have I!!
